Disaster Case Management

Disaster case management is a crucial part of the OLTRG’s work. They assist disaster victims directly with connection to resources and act as advocates for disaster victims to receive the resources they are entitled to.

State Referrals

Connections to state disaster relief programs which can assist with unmet needs, repairs, and more.

Insurance/Contractor Problems

Insurance companies can be difficult to deal with, especially after a disaster. With our help we connect you to the right resource to assist with deductibles, claims, and more. Most contractors who work after disaster are great people who are willing to help. However in some cases the client is left with unfinished work or work that never started. We can help sort out these contractor problems by acting as an advocate for our clients.

An unmet needs assessment allows the OLTRG to understand and assess the damages that disaster victims are dealing with. With this assessment the OLTRG can determine whether the damaged sustained is relevant to the storm and prevents doubling of resources.

Rebuild/repair Funding

We are funded through the American Red Cross and Volunteer Florida. In August we received $125,000 to assist with unmet needs in Okeechobee County. With this funding we can directly assist with repair and rebuild projects for eligible Hurricane Milton victims.
